Wedding Flower Packages

Wedding Flower Packages

Choosing wedding flower packages can be quite bewildering especially if you do not have a theme. There are some things you need to be aware of when deciding on your wedding flowers.

As your flowers are an essential part of your wedding day, begin by preparing a budget.  A budget will give you an idea of the cost of the flowers. Of course you should have an overall budget for your wedding.  How much should you budget for your wedding flower packages?  The average is about 8 to 10 percent of your overall budget.  This includes your bouquet, your bridesmaids’ bouquets, the groom and groomsmen boutonnieres, ceremony and reception flowers. Purchase them in a wedding flower package rather than individually as the cost will be lower.

If you need ideas check with family and friends especially recently married friends.  They can be of great help as they have went through what you are going through now. If you haven’t done so, select a color theme for your wedding.

Bridal florist wedding flower packages

Before visiting your florist, you will need to determine how many bouquets, corsages, boutonnieres and other flower arrangements you will need. Bring photos of flower bouquets and flower arrangements that you like. These can be from magazines or ones that you have taken with your camera. As well, if you have already chosen your wedding dress and bridesmaid’s dresses, bring photos of them. This will give your florist an idea of putting together the best possible wedding flower packages.  Ask your florist to show you samples of their wedding floral arrangements.  Order extra corsages and boutonnieres especially if you want special guests (out of town relatives/friends, special friends) to wear them.  It’s a nice gesture to make them feel as being part of the wedding party.

To keep the cost of your wedding flower package down, consider using flowers that are specific to your area and the season in which you are planning to get married.

Wedding Flower Packages Tips

Here are some tips as to what to include in your wedding flower package:

* Flower arrangements at the altar.  To save some cost, you can reuse the flowers at the reception hall.
* Pew markers/decorations.  Decorate the first few rows of the pews.
* Check with your church officiant to see if there will be other wedding ceremonies before and after yours.  To keep cost down, you may want to contact those brides and see if you can all share in the cost of the flowers for the church ceremonies.  This way, you can all share the flowers.

Reception Hall
* Wedding flower arrangements for the head table.  To keep cost down, you can have the bridal bouquet and bridesmaid’s flowers placed on the head table.
* Arrangements for the table centerpieces.  How about candy centerpieces?
* Buffet/sweets table decorations.
* Flowers at the cake and sweets table
* Flowers at the entrance to the reception room

Bridal Party
* Bridal bouquet
* (optional) A second smaller bridal bouquet to be used for the bouquet toss if you want to keep your original bridal bouquet.
* Groom’s boutonniere.
* Maid of honour flower/bouquet – should be a bit more elaborate or in a different shade than the bridesmaid’s flowers/bouquets.
* Bridesmaid’s flowers/bouquets.
* Best man boutonniere – should be a bit more elaborate that those of the groomsmen.
* Groomsmen boutonnieres.
